What Makes Our Treats Different (And Why Pet Shops Love Them)

When I started Glacier’s Goodies, I wasn’t thinking about shelf appeal or case packs. I just wanted to make something fun, nourishing, and safe for my own dog — Glacier. Like many pups, she has a sensitive stomach, which meant I had to get thoughtful about every ingredient.

Through a lot of research into gentle, gut-friendly foods, I discovered goat milk. It's packed with probiotics, naturally easy to digest, and quickly became the star ingredient in my recipe testing. I paired it with other simple, functional ingredients like rolled oats and flaxseed — grinding them into powder when needed to preserve their benefits and their appearance.

I’ve always been creative—painting, illustrating, crafting, and dreaming up small business ideas long before becoming a professional designer. So when I started making dog treats at home as a hobby, it quickly became more than just baking for fun. I wanted the treats to be healthy for Glacier, who has a sensitive stomach, but I also wanted them to look playful and appealing. That meant using thoughtful, real ingredients like goat milk, rolled oats, and ground flaxseed—not just for digestive support, but to create a clean, neutral base that allowed the natural colors from fruits and vegetables to shine through.

At first, I made human-inspired dog desserts—cupcakes, donuts, even cannolis—just to explore what was possible with dog-safe ingredients. But as I got serious about selling, I knew I needed something more practical for packaging and shelf life. That’s when I came up with the idea for a chocolate bar–style treat: unique, portionable squares stamped with Glacier’s mark. The bars were a hit, but for retail, I refined them further—reformulating slightly with natural preservatives and packaging them as individual squares in resealable pouches.

Every treat is still handmade in small batches just outside Seattle, designed with dogs like Glacier in mind and packaged to stand out on shelves. I created the entire brand myself—from the recipes to the visual identity. That includes designing and illustrating each treat pouch, building the packaging, and shaping the brand’s voice and presence from the ground up. As both the maker and the designer, every part of Glacier’s Goodies reflects the same care and creativity that started it all.

Our treats are gently dehydrated, not baked, which helps retain nutrients and their vibrant, naturally colorful appearance. They're crafted in small batches right here in Kirkland, Washington — just outside of Seattle — using limited, real ingredients: nothing artificial, no fillers, and no unnecessary extras.

Retailers across the Seattle area and beyond are drawn to Glacier’s Goodies because they:

  • Offer a unique look and story customers actually remember

  • Work for dogs with sensitive stomachs (a growing concern)

  • Come in shelf-stable packaging with clear, informative branding

Whether you're a dog parent, a local shop owner, or just someone who appreciates thoughtfully made things, we’re so glad you’re here.
